Likely causes & remedies
Likely cause 1: Motor been ‘having trouble’ and getting worse. Likely cause – Food leaking inside (yuk) and getting in the way. Motor bearing suffering with age. Open up and have a look. Remedy – Uneconomic to fix. Replace.
Likely cause 2: Motor stops and starts, especially if cable is wiggled. Likely cause – Cable fault. Might be repairable depending on how well sealed the housing is.
Likely cause 3: Motor stops and starts, when it feels like it. Likely cause – Switch or safety interlock intermittent. Open up and have a look. Might be repairable.
