Likely causes:
- Toast crumbs in the main contacts. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLFG068HtgM. The contacts are shown at 2:34 – perfect for crumbs to intrude!It may be possible to dislodge by shaking. If not, unplug, open upand clean.
- Element is broken. Usually caused by poking something in thetop. There are many sizes and shapes on sale on ebay, and a fair number of good youtube videos to help.
